Giving, Then Receiving

This is a beautiful post! THanks for letting me share it!

Our Lord gives
but what we
receive is
up to us.

A hungry man
sits by the road.
A woman on the way
to the market
gives him a meat pie.

“Must be something
wrong with it,” he
mutters and refuses
to eat the pie.

We laugh at the
man’s foolishness
but do the same
as we focus on a
desire instead of
enjoying what we have.

When was the last time
you sat quietly and watched
the sunset, listened to
a bird trill, or savored
a sweet memory?

Why are there people hungry
in this world of plenty?
