I’m watching Oprah’s SuperSoul Sunday and she is interviewing Diana Nyad. The 64 year old woman who swam from the US coast to Cuba at the age of 64 years old. Her story is so powerful about the body vs the spirit. The spirit is more powerful than the Body ever could be. She tried to swim it once when she was 28, then quit and never swam another lap for 31 years. .until she had to listen to a “voice” that told her it was time for her to complete the task of swimming from the US coast to Cuba. She completed the task I think in December 2013.
It reminded me of the lesson that made me continue to attend the church in which I have not been going to for the past few weeks. I remember the sermon the minister called “Don’t let them pull you out of the water.” It was about a swimmer who gave up too soon. Just like when we give up on things too soon because it is appears too hard…. “Don’t let them pull you out of the water”.
I have been having “water” type dreams lately. Creeks, streams, oceans, white sands..they have been beautiful. I take it as pieces of my journey. The good thing about the water is, even though I have a lot on my mind..the waters have been calm. I like calm waters.
“Find our way, back to light”-Diana Nyad.
